Reading deadlines for the course

The literature

Part 4 (LITERATURE – CRITICAL STUDY) works

1. A Clockwork Orange by the end of week 44 in IB1 autumn term
2. The Handmaid’s Tale by the end of week 47 in IB1 autumn term
3. Top Girls by the end of week 2 in IB1 spring term

Part 3 (LITERATURE – TEXTS AND CONTEXTS) works 

All Part 3 works must be read at least once before IB2 begins. Make up your own reading schedule for them during the spring but they  – there will be a temptation to leave them for the summer but I recommend that you leave yourself a maximum of one work to read during the summer break. You should already have read Under the Skin, which leaves you with two plays. There is at least one filmed version of A Doll’s House available in English (you may borrow my DVD). There are many filmed versions of Romeo and Juliet (Class of 2015) and Hamlet (Class of 2016).
